Long established two partner practice based in Halifax centre has the following vacancies:

Accounts & Audit Manager (Competitive salary)

Experienced ACA, ACCA or QBE with strong general practice experience required, although applications will be considered from recently qualified candidates who have strong audit experience. This is a hands on role reporting directly to the partners of the firm.

The Candidate

  • Strong general practice experience
  • Capable of managing trading company audits
  • Excellent technical knowledge
  • Good IT skills, experience of IRIS accounts preparation and corporation tax preferred
  • Hands on role , capable of working unsupervised

This role

Mainly involves the management of a portfolio of private limited company clients with approximately 75% non audit work and 25% audit work.

The firm has a small number of audits with the largest having a turnover of £30m and the role requires the management of these.

Progression to partner is a possibility with this role.

Part time considered, minimum of 20 hours per week.

AAT Accountant (Market Rate)

  • 2 to 5 years accountancy practice experience
  • Ideally AAT qualified or finalist (level 4 study support available if needed)
  • Experience in bookkeeping & VAT return preparation which will be about 50% of the role
  • Experience in small limited company accounts preparation which will make up the remaining 50% of the role
  • Sage 50 experience an advantage
  • IRIS accounts production user an advantage
  • We would consider part time/flexible hours subject to a minimum of 25 hours per week (eg. school hours, 4 day week)
  • We would prefer a local candidate living within a 10 mile radius of our offices.

AAT Trainee (Market Rate)

You will gain work experience primarily in our bookkeeping department but will have the opportunity to assist in preparing statutory accounts and on audits.


  • Good grades at either A Level or GCSE.
  • Good IT skills and be numerate and organised
  • An excellent communicator
  • Attendance at college on a part-time basis.

Standard 35 hour working week. Paid overtime. Office hours 8.30am to 5.30pm.

25 days holidays - 33 days with bank holidays.
